Managed security monitoring in Jamaica

Syxel Security provides managed security monitoring in Jamaica for organizations that need someone watching their systems around the clock. We collect security alerts and logs from your firewalls, servers, endpoints and cloud services, investigate what looks wrong, and help you respond.

Why 24/7 monitoring matters

Attackers do not keep office hours. Many intrusions start late at night, on weekends or over public holidays, when nobody is looking at the firewall logs. The longer an attacker goes unnoticed, the more time they have to steal data, spread through the network or prepare ransomware.

Most small and mid-sized organizations in Jamaica cannot staff a security team around the clock. Managed monitoring gives you that coverage without hiring one. It also supports your Data Protection Act obligations: a data controller must report a security breach affecting personal data to the Information Commissioner within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and you can only do that if you notice the breach.

How managed security monitoring in Jamaica works with Syxel

We connect your key systems to our monitoring platform and tune the alerts to your environment, so your team is not flooded with noise. When something suspicious happens, our analysts investigate it, decide whether it is a real threat, and escalate it to your nominated contacts with clear guidance on what to do next.

  • Firewalls and network devices, including Fortinet firewalls, for blocked attacks, unusual traffic and configuration changes.
  • Servers and endpoints for malware, suspicious logins and unexpected changes.
  • Email and cloud accounts for risky sign-ins, forwarding rules and signs of account takeover.
  • Remote sites and branches, including locations connected over Starlink or mobile data.
  • Device availability, so you know when key systems go offline after a power outage or storm.

Incident response when it counts

Monitoring is only useful if someone acts on what it finds. When we confirm an incident, we work with your team to contain it, such as isolating an infected computer, disabling a compromised account or blocking an attacking address. We then help work out what happened and restore normal operations.

You also receive regular reports summarizing what we saw, what we did and what we recommend, written so management can follow them. Over time, those reports show recurring weaknesses that are worth fixing at the source, which is where penetration testing and security awareness training help.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to buy new equipment for monitoring?

Not always. We can often work with the firewalls, servers and security software you already have. If there are gaps, such as devices that cannot send logs, we will explain the options before you commit.

What happens when you detect a threat?

Our analysts investigate the alert and, if it is genuine, contact your nominated people using the escalation procedure we agreed during onboarding. Where you have authorized it, we can also take containment steps such as isolating a device or disabling an account.

What affects the cost of managed monitoring?

The number of devices, servers, users and sites being monitored, the amount of log data, and whether incident response support is included. We scope the service after reviewing your environment.

Can you monitor our branches and remote sites?

Yes. Branches and remote locations, including sites connected over Starlink or mobile data, can be monitored alongside your main office as long as they have a network connection.

Does monitoring help with the Data Protection Act?

Yes. It supports the requirement for appropriate technical measures to protect personal data, and it helps you detect breaches early enough to meet the 72-hour reporting requirement to the Information Commissioner.
