Penetration testing in Jamaica
Syxel Security provides penetration testing in Jamaica for organizations that want to know how an attacker could get into their systems before someone actually tries. Every test is carried out only with your written authorization and within a scope we agree with you in advance.
Request a scoping callWhat penetration testing in Jamaica involves
A penetration test is a controlled attack on your systems by people you have hired to do it. The goal is to find weaknesses, show whether they can be exploited, and explain what an attacker could reach. It goes further than a vulnerability scan, which lists possible problems without testing them.
Our testers combine automated scanners with manual testing. Scanners cover ground quickly. Manual work finds what tools miss, such as flaws in business logic, weak access controls between user roles, or small problems that chain together into something serious.
Authorization and scope come first
We do not test anything without written authorization from someone with the authority to give it. Before any testing starts, we agree on the scope in writing: which systems, IP addresses, domains and applications are included, which are excluded, the testing window, and who to contact if something unexpected happens.
If any systems are hosted by a third party, such as a cloud provider or web host, we confirm with you that testing is permitted under their terms.
What we test
You can choose one or more of the following, depending on where your risk sits.
- External network testing of internet-facing systems such as firewalls, VPNs, email servers and remote access portals.
- Internal network testing that shows what an attacker or a malicious insider could reach from inside your office network.
- Web application testing of customer portals, online banking or member services, booking systems and e-commerce sites.
- Wireless testing of business and guest Wi-Fi, including how well guest networks are separated from internal systems.
- Cloud configuration review of accounts and services that hold business data.
What you receive
You get a written report with an executive summary in plain English and a technical section for your IT team or developers. Each finding includes a description, evidence, a risk rating and specific steps to fix it. We walk you through the results in a debrief meeting so nobody is left guessing about priorities.
Once you have made fixes, we can retest the affected findings to confirm they are closed. Testing is worth repeating after major changes, such as launching a new application, and pairs well with managed security monitoring between tests. It also supports your Data Protection Act compliance by showing that your security measures have been checked.
Penetration testing options
External network test
Tests your internet-facing systems the way an outside attacker would see them.
Internal network test
Shows how far an attacker could move once inside your network, and what they could reach.
Web application test
Checks portals, websites and online services for flaws in authentication, access control and data handling.
Retesting
Confirms that fixes were applied and the original findings are closed.
How a penetration test runs
- Step 1
Scoping
We agree on the targets, exclusions, testing approach and timing, and confirm any third-party permissions.
- Step 2
Written authorization
You sign off on the scope and rules of engagement before any testing begins.
- Step 3
Testing
Our testers combine automated scanning with manual testing and keep your nominated contact informed of anything urgent.
- Step 4
Reporting and debrief
You receive a report with ranked findings and fixes, followed by a meeting to go through them.
- Step 5
Retest
After remediation, we check the affected findings again and update the report.

Frequently asked questions
Will a penetration test disrupt our operations?
Testing is planned to avoid disruption. We agree on testing windows, exclude fragile systems where needed, and avoid techniques that could cause outages unless you specifically approve them. You will have a direct contact on our side throughout the test.
How long does a penetration test take?
It depends on the scope: the number of IP addresses, applications and user roles, and whether internal testing requires on-site work. A focused external test is shorter than a combined internal, external and application test. We give you a timeline when we agree on the scope.
What is the difference between vulnerability scanning and penetration testing?
A vulnerability scan is an automated check that lists known weaknesses. A penetration test goes further by trying to exploit those weaknesses, along with ones scanners cannot find, to show their real impact. Many organizations run scans regularly and penetration tests less often.
What do we need to provide?
Written authorization, the list of systems in scope, a technical contact, and, for application testing, test accounts for each user role. For internal testing we will need network access, either on-site or through an agreed remote connection.
Can a penetration test help with compliance?
Yes. It supports the Data Protection Act requirement for appropriate technical and organizational measures, and testing is expected under PCI DSS. The report is evidence that your controls have been tested.
