IT infrastructure and network installation in Jamaica
Syxel Infrastructure provides IT infrastructure and network installation in Jamaica, covering Starlink, CCTV and network installation along with the firewalls, Wi-Fi and cabling that hold it all together. We plan, install and document every job so your team knows what was put in, where it lives and how to keep it running.

Starlink, CCTV and network installation under one team
Many businesses end up with one company for internet, another for cameras, an electrician for cable runs and someone else for the firewall. When something stops working, each one points at the next. We handle the physical and network layers together: connectivity, structured cabling, switching, Wi-Fi, surveillance cameras, door access and the security appliances at the edge of your network.
Because one team designs the whole picture, the pieces are planned to work together. Cameras sit on their own network segment instead of sharing bandwidth with your point-of-sale system. Access control panels and the network core go on battery backup. A Starlink connection can run as your main link or as a backup that the firewall switches to when your fiber or DSL line drops. Every cable is labeled back to a patch panel so the next person who opens the cabinet can follow it.
Built for Jamaican conditions
Equipment that works fine in a showroom can struggle in a hot comms closet in May Pen or on a rooftop in Negril during hurricane season. We design with local conditions in mind from the first site visit.
- Power: UPS units and surge protection sized for the equipment that has to stay up during an outage, such as the firewall, core switch, NVR and door controllers.
- Weather: outdoor mounts, cable entry points and conduit planned for wind and heavy rain, with a plan for what to secure or take down before a storm.
- Heat: ventilation and placement of network cabinets so switches and recorders are not cooking in a ceiling space.
- Rural connectivity: Starlink and point-to-point wireless links for farms, resorts, schools and plants in parishes where fixed broadband is limited or unavailable.
- Redundancy: a second internet path with automatic failover, so a single line fault does not take the whole office offline.
Who we work with
Our infrastructure work suits organizations that depend on their network every day but do not want to run a full in-house IT team. That includes credit unions and financial offices that need reliable branch connectivity and camera coverage at teller lines, hotels and villas that need guest Wi-Fi across a large property, schools that need coverage in classrooms and labs, and factories and warehouses that need cameras and access control across loading bays and stores.
We also work with clinics, retail shops, BPO floors and government offices. Each site is different, so we start by looking at how the space is used and what the business needs before recommending equipment.
Security is part of the install, not an afterthought
Cameras, door controllers and Wi-Fi access points are all computers on your network. Installed carelessly, with default passwords and open ports, they become an easy way in. On every job we change default credentials, update firmware where updates are available, separate devices into network segments and configure the firewall to allow only the traffic each system needs.
Our team holds security and governance credentials, including (ISC)² SSCP and ISACA credentials, and works with Fortinet and Dell technology. For servers, devices and network hardware, Syxel is Lenovo 360 authorized (Infrastructure Solutions and Intelligent Devices). If you need a deeper review of your security after the install, our cybersecurity team can take it from there.

Learn more →Access control systems
Card, fob, PIN and biometric door access with user management and audit logs, so you know who went where and when.
Learn more →Network cabling and business Wi-Fi
Structured cabling, patch panels, switching and managed Wi-Fi that covers the whole building, tested and documented.
Learn more →Firewalls and SD-WAN
Fortinet firewall configuration, internet failover and SD-WAN to link branches and route traffic across more than one connection.
Hardware sourcing
Help choosing and sourcing servers, laptops, switches and storage matched to the job. Syxel is Lenovo 360 authorized (Infrastructure Solutions and Intelligent Devices), and we also work with Dell equipment.
Maintenance and support
Ongoing checks, firmware updates, changes and troubleshooting after the install, so the system stays in good shape.
How an infrastructure project works
- Step 1
Site assessment
We visit the site, walk the space, check power, existing cabling and internet, and talk through what you need.
- Step 2
Design and quote
You get a written scope with the proposed equipment, cable routes, camera or access point positions and a quote.
- Step 3
Installation
We install, configure and test everything, scheduling noisy or disruptive work around your opening hours where possible.
- Step 4
Handover and support
You receive network diagrams, labeled patch panels, admin access and a walkthrough, with ongoing support available.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an infrastructure project cost?
It depends on the size of the site, the number of cable drops, cameras, doors or access points, the equipment you choose and how hard the cable routes are to reach. Reusing existing cabling or hardware can lower the cost. We give a written quote after the site assessment, so you are not paying for guesses.
How long does an installation take?
Small office jobs can be finished quickly, while multi-building sites take longer. The main factors are the scope, equipment lead times, access to ceilings and walls, and whether work has to happen outside business hours. Your quote will include a proposed schedule.
Do you work outside Spanish Town and Kingston?
Yes. We are based in Innswood, St. Catherine, and work with businesses across Jamaica, including rural and remote sites. Starlink and wireless bridging jobs are often in places where fixed broadband does not reach.
What do we need to prepare for a site assessment?
Someone who can give us access to the building, the roof and the comms room or closet. It helps to have a floor plan, a list of current equipment and your internet provider details. Tell us about any problems you already have, such as dead spots or dropped calls.
Can you work with the equipment we already have?
Often, yes. During the assessment we check what can be reused and what should be replaced, for example older switches that cannot support newer cameras. We will explain why if we recommend replacing something.
What happens after installation?
You get documentation, admin credentials and a walkthrough of the system. We can also provide ongoing maintenance and support, including firmware updates, changes as your business grows and troubleshooting when something goes wrong.
