CCTV installation in Jamaica
Syxel provides CCTV installation in Jamaica for offices, shops, warehouses, schools and hotels. We design camera coverage around what you actually need to see, set up recording and remote viewing, and lock the system down so it does not become a weak point on your network.

Good surveillance starts with questions, not cameras. What are you trying to see: faces at the entrance, cash at the till, vehicles at the gate, stock in the warehouse? How long do you need to keep footage? Who needs to watch it, and from where? The answers decide the camera types, positions, lenses and storage.
We install IP cameras that connect to a network video recorder (NVR) over network cable, usually with power over Ethernet so each camera needs only one cable. Positions are chosen to cover entrances, exits, cash points and blind spots, with attention to lighting, glare and night vision.
What you get
Each installation is configured and tested before we hand it over.
- IP cameras placed and angled for clear identification where it matters
- An NVR with storage sized for the retention period you need
- Remote viewing on phones and computers for authorized staff
- Cameras on a separate network segment, with default passwords changed
- UPS backup for the recorder and core switch so recording continues through short outages
- A camera map and admin handover for your team
CCTV and the Jamaica Data Protection Act
Footage of identifiable people is personal data under the Jamaica Data Protection Act. That means you should have a clear purpose for recording, visible signage, a set retention period, and control over who can view and export footage. Cameras should not point into areas where people expect privacy, such as restrooms.
We set up user accounts, retention and export settings to support those obligations. For a wider review of how your business handles personal data, see our Data Protection Act compliance service.
Cameras that work with the rest of your security
CCTV is most useful alongside other controls. Pairing cameras with access control systems lets you check footage against door events, and good network cabling keeps camera traffic from slowing down the rest of the office.

Frequently asked questions
How much does CCTV installation cost?
The main factors are the number of cameras, camera types, cable distances, how long you want to keep footage and whether existing cabling can be reused. We quote after seeing the site.
How long is footage kept?
That depends on the storage we install and your settings. We size storage to the retention period you choose, and you should set that period based on your purpose for recording and your Data Protection Act obligations.
Can we view cameras from our phones?
Yes. We set up remote viewing for authorized users with individual accounts, so you can see who has access and remove it when someone leaves.
Do cameras keep recording during a power outage?
Only if the recorder, switch and cameras have backup power. We size a UPS for the critical equipment so recording continues through short outages. Longer outages need a generator or larger battery system.
Can you upgrade our existing system?
Yes. We assess what you have and tell you what can stay. Some older systems can be partly reused, while others are better replaced in stages.
Who should have access to the footage?
Only the people who need it for the purpose you are recording for, such as a manager or security officer. We set up individual user accounts with the right permissions, so viewing and exporting can be limited and traced.
